North Dakota State Ousts Dragons from Virginia Duals, 25-18

Charlottesville, Va. - Drexel dropped a consolation match with North Dakota State, 25-18, that eliminated the Dragons from the 2007 Virginia Duals. Steve Mytych and Jon Oplinger each won all three of their matches at the Duals.

Mytych opened the match with a 2-1 decision over Eric Hoffman, his second straight win by a 2-1 score. North Dakota State responded with wins at 133, 141, 149 and 157 pounds to take a 16-3 lead. Billy Haydt halted the streak with a pin of Mike Quamme at 2:55 to close the gap to 16-9. At 174 pounds, senior co-captain Nick Kozar suffered an injury during the match and was unable to continue. The injury default gave North Dakota State a 22-9 lead. Matt Wetterling clinched the match to North Dakota State with a pin of Justin Terhune at 184 pounds.

The Dragons return to the mat on Jan. 19 to participate in the CAA Duals.
